ambassador for knus

If you’re interested in armchair volunteering – our most flexible, low-commitment role – and would like to volunteer with knus, simply read through the information on this page and submit an application.

Are you 18 or older and based in the United States?

You must be at least 18 years old and permanently living in the U.S. to take part.

Do you have a laptop?

This role can be done from anywhere – whether you’re on the couch at home or traveling — as long as you have a laptop and internet access.

How much time can you give?

As much or as little as you’d like. We’re flexible and aim to work around your availability.

Do you enjoy learning?

All volunteers receive training when they join. You’ll also have access to our continuing education (CPD) courses, helping you build knowledge, gain certificates, and strengthen your résumé.

How does the role work?

In 2025, we launched our armchair volunteering initiative to help spread awareness of knus and to give people meaningful ways to contribute to improving mental health support across the United States.

We welcome volunteers to get involved in the ways that suit them best - whether that’s sharing content on social media, proofreading, taking part in surveys, sharing lived experiences, or contributing to our creative and impactful projects.

What do I need to provide to become an ambassador?

To volunteer with knus as an ambassador, you’ll need to complete a short application and an ID check. A basic background search is also required at no cost to you. This helps us ensure knus remains a safe and supportive place for everyone involved. Don’t worry - we’ll guide you through each step and support you along the way.

All training is provided by knus and our training partners. Training sessions are delivered online using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
